Kako Crisci, an award-winning author, an art historian, born in China, was introduced to the world of jade at a tender age, igniting a lifelong fascination with this ancient and revered material. While studying in Japan, she encountered the groundbreaking work of Hayashi Minoa, a pivotal moment that deepened her appreciation for jade and its cultural significance.

With a passion for unraveling the mysteries of ancient civilizations, Kako has authored several acclaimed books on Chinese jade, including “Hongshan Jade: The Oldest and Most Imaginative Jades Full of Mysterious Beauty”, “Liangzhu Jade: The Power of Prayer”, “Longshan Jade: Treasures from One of the Least Studied and Most Extraordinary Neolithic Jade Eras”, and “Jade of the Shang Dynasty – Jade Vessels: The Inspiration of Shang Bronze”.

Her latest work, “Jade Reflections: Decoding the Western Zhou Dynasty, Intersections of Power, Society, and Philosophy in Early Chinese Civilization,” builds upon the success of her previous publications.
